THE PREACHING TODAY will be based on Revelation chapter 18. This chapter-by-chapter study of the Book of Revelation will end on September 10.

 

AFTER TODAY'S WORSHIP SERVICE there will be an organizational meeting for the Renew ministry team. 12:30 pm, in the Chapel Room. The Renew team will leave tomorrow morning and drive to Georgia. The group will return late Saturday evening, August 19.  

 

ALSO TODAY, the Ferris Sate evangelism team will meet in the Prayer Room. 12:30. They are preparing for five days of campus outreach that will begin on August 25.  

 

HOPE CHURCH WILL HOST A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Sarah Naidu on Sunday afternoon, August 27. This will be an opportunity to worship the Lord and care for the Naidu family. Everyone is invited. The service will begin at 2:00 pm. A fellowship meal will follow. Megan Mitchell has details about food, 313-618-0041.  

 

THE ANCHOR BIBLE COLLEGE FALL SEMESTER will begin in two weeks. Here are key details:

     * The first day of class will be Monday, August 28. The semester will end in mid-December.

     * Eight courses will be offered: Christian Theology, Church History, New Testament Survey, Biblical Archeology, Biblical Interpretation, The Psalms, Effective Communication, and Introduction to Hebrew.  

     * Anchor Bible College is a ministry of Hope Church. Register for classes at anchorbiblecollege.org.  

 

TWO EVENTS COMING IN SEPTEMBER:

     * The annual Young Men's Advance is scheduled for Saturday, September 23. 1:00 - 9:00 pm. At the Nelson Floor Covering warehouse.  

     * "Stable Christian Family," an afternoon of family training with special guest, Kirk Smith, will be hosted at the Martin family barn. 2:00 pm.  

 

CONGRATULATIONS TO Daniel and Elisabeth Manwiller. The couple was married yesterday at Hope Church. A great many church members assisted with the wedding. Thank you. Daniel and Elisabeth plan to serve the needs of students at Anchor Bible College.
